Data Maintenance License

We are proud to offer to our Airspace customers a license designed to provide enhancements and improve the accuracy of your site analysis.

In choosing Airspace for your FAR Part 77 analysis and management needs, you selected one of the finest planning and control tools in the construction industry. The Airspace analysis of a potential building site can shorten your construction time and minimizes the risks to your investment. This program was developed to assist individuals, like yourself, who are users of the National Airspace System (NAS, and that limited resource called "Airspace.") Our Airspace Data Maintenance License will complement and enhance your ability to select an aeronautical hazard free site, plus maximize your use and knowledge of the National "Airspace" resource in a very short time.

Before you build a structure over 200 feet tall or are near an airport you are required to file notice with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of your proposed construction project. When you purchased Airspace you purchased a current data base. The data base is made from many data elements taken from thousands of airports and runways from around the country. For the most part, the location of an individual airport does not change, but the configuration of the airport, its category, and status does change over time. With the continued growth in aviation and the changing makeup of the mix of aircraft (more Helicopter and STOL) additional smaller airports and heliports can be expected in the next 20 years. Existing airports are under a constant state of change. To meet the capacity demand of the future new runways are being built, old ones are lengthen, and electronic instruments are being added. Having the latest most accurate data can minimize your risk and shorten the time to construct your facility.

To solve your problem of maintaining a current data base we provide a data license to our customers. Our AIRSPACE Data Maintenance License will maintain your aeronautical data base and software over the covered period (one year). As a subscriber to this service you will receive data updates every two months. These updates will include airport geodetic, category, and status plus runway geodetic and approach type data. Every six months new navigation and communication data will be issued. Added to this already great value will be all major software upgrades. This alone will provide a significant cost savings to you, the customer.

For those customers that have purchased a site license the value is even better. The complete AIRSPACE Data Maintenance License covers all licensed copies of Airspace at the site license address for a single low fee. If you purchased a single user copy of AIRSPACE and need to use it on more than one machine or on a Local Area Network (LAN) you must upgrade to a site license. A site license authorizes up to four copies of Airspace at a single office.

In order to use AIRSPACE Data Maintenance Updates each copy of Airspace must have a valid Data Maintenance License. Airspace incorporates a algorithm to determine the likelihood of your proposed structure violating the Horizontal (FAR 77.25(a)) or Conical (FAR 77.25(b)) surfaces of all airports near your proposed construction site. This provides analysis for airports that have not had their runways surveyed by the Federal Aviation Administration. In addition, Airspace identifies the FARs 77.13(a)(2) and 77.13(a)(5) "Notice Requirements" for all public airports. Knowing the expected results of the FAA's Aeronautical Study of your proposed construction project within about 1 minute instead of 30 days or more will certainly help your bottom line. Airspace will save time and money. Do your aeronautical site analysis in house and control your project.

Our airport and terminal data base contains over 6,500 public use airports and detailed data on over 8,400 runways. Data is also provided on all landing facilities (approximately 18,000 public and private) in the Unites Stated. The facilities data base contains nearly 10,000 air navigation and communication facilities. We include all 68,000 plus verified and unverified obstacles located in the United States and along the boarder with Canada and Mexico. This data is useful to let you know about alternative sites that have already been studied by the FAA. Locating your proposed facility on an existing site may be faster than building one of your own. The obstacle data is identified by type, coordinates, elevation, height, lighting & marking, accuracy standard, and the original FAA aeronautical study number. Our Airspace Data Maintenance License provides you the additions and updates every two months to keep your analysis current. Make sure your analysis reflects all current airport, runway, facility and obstacle data.

In response to requests to include private airport identification in our analysis we have added private airport identification in the Airspace analysis reports.

As future versions of Airspace are released they will automatically be forward to you as a current subscriber of Airspace Data Maintenance License Service. In the meantime, immediately upon receipt of your order we will ship to your office our latest version of Airspace, if you currently, do not have the latest version.

Key Benefits

  • Current accurate data will insure accurate construction decisions.
  • All software changes on the program purchased will be forward at no additional cost.
  • Existing obstacle identification may shorten construction time by allowing installation on an existing tower or building.
