Class Update – Much to our surprise Microsoft’s MSRMaps Server has resurfaced and continues to be available. We thank Microsoft for their continued service. During the last two months we have refined the requirements for notice to the FAA based upon EMI. If the proposed structure is an antenna and located greater than 5 NM from a radar, notice is not required, provided no part of Title 14 CFR Part 77.9 is exceeded. If the antenna is within 5 NM notice may be required. If the proposed structure is existing or an alteration and meets the criteria of Part 77.9(e)(1). 77.9(e)(4) or the FAA/FCC co-location policy notice is not required, while notice would have been required for a new antenna if the radar notice criteria was penetrated. Of course, if the structure is a FM or AM commercial broadcast tower or wind turbine other criteria would apply. We have also added the ability to use Microsoft’s Bing/maps from with Airspace® and TERPS®.
